My path to becoming a mental health provider began with a deep connection to the natural world and the presence of horses. Long before I had the language for it, I sensed how being with horses calmed my nervous system and helped me feel more grounded in myself. That early experience led me to become an equine-facilitated learning provider, and eventually inspired me to pursue graduate studies so I could more fully understand the science and soul behind healing.

I earned my degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Prescott College, where social justice and ecological awareness were foundational to my training. Today, I support children and adults through a relational, body-based approach that integrates Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Somatic Therapy. I believe each part of us—even those carrying pain—holds wisdom, and that healing happens when we are met with compassion, curiosity, and connection.

I also integrate art therapy techniques into my work, honoring creativity as a vital part of the healing process. The name Blue Horse Counseling is inspired by Franz Marc’s vivid paintings of blue horses, which evoke a sense of peace, freedom, and wholeness. Poet Mary Oliver reflected on these paintings and the deep connection they offer the viewer. She once wrote, “Maybe the desire to make something beautiful is the piece of God that is inside each of us.” I hold that belief close—trusting that beauty, in all its forms, can be a powerful force for connection and transformation.
